Hangeul 1 — Consonants & Vowels

Reading Korean letters from absolute zero, in the order that makes them stick.

Batchim (the final consonant) and the pronunciations that make Korean sound Korean.

Good to know

Do I need to know any Korean already?

No. Level 1 starts at absolute zero — the consonants and vowels. If you've never seen 한글 before, that's exactly where you begin.

Is it live? Do I have to be online at a certain time?

No calls, no time zone problem. Each day's lesson and worksheet are posted for you, and you do them whenever your day allows. The only thing that's fixed is the 21-day window.

How much time does it take a day?

Around 20 minutes: one short video, one worksheet. It's designed for people with a job, kids, or both.

What if I miss a day?

You pick it up the next day. Everything stays open until the end of the month the challenge runs in — so a lesson you missed in week one is still waiting for you in week three. Nobody is ranked against anybody. The point is finishing, not a perfect streak.

How do I submit my homework?

Through the Classroom. Print the worksheet and photograph it, or write on it digitally and upload — whichever is easier for you. A professional Korean teacher checks it and sends it back.

Which level should I choose?

Use the 10-second check above. If you're between two, take the lower one — the first days will feel easy, and you'll finish. Starting one level too high is the number one reason people stop.

I'm between beginner and intermediate. Is this for me?

If you can already read, write and know some grammar, start with Level 5 — theme-based sentences you can use straight away. If you also want to widen your vocabulary, Level 3 (nouns) and Level 4 (verbs) are the two that move people up fastest. Korean verbs change a lot depending on the form, so getting used to them daily is what closes the gap to intermediate.

What if I change my mind?

Full refund any time before the challenge starts on September 1. Just email me — no reason needed. Once it starts and the lessons are with you, I can't refund it.

Can I do more than one level?

Yes, and most people do — one level per round, in order. Each one is a separate 21 days at $97.
